More Photo Challenge Pics

May 18, 2012 Something You Made

Yup, there they are.  I made them :).

May 19, 2012 A Favorite Place

The Adventure Aquarium in Camden.  Its small, interesting and works in all kinds of weather.

May 20, 2012 Something You Can't Live Without

Yeah, these two again :).

And this guy is pretty awesome, too.

May 21, 2012 Where You Stand

At this new walker's side.

May 22, 2012 Pink

There's a lot more of it in my life since this little girl came into our lives.  A lot more.

May 23, 2012 Technology

I have a huge respect for technology...it kept my baby boy safe during his surgery.

May 24, 2012 Something New

Norrin's very short haircut.  I hate it.  It makes him look way too grown up. Thank goodness he doesn't act too grown up :).

May 25, 2012 Unusual

A walking baby girl.

May 26, 2012 12 O'clock

This is what Norrin was doing at 12 o'clock.  Sitting in his car seat taking pictures with my iPhone.

May 27, 2012 Something Sweet

Ani Rose covered in strawberries straight from our garden.

Photo Challenge Catch Up

May 10, 2012 A Favorite Word:
WONKY...can apply to anything- a knitting project gone a little wrong, a shopping cart that won't stay the course, a day that is just not right.

May 11, 2012 Kitchen:
Yup, there it is in all its glory.  Not the most beautiful specimen you've ever seen, but a whole lot of yummy food comes out of it.  Scones, soups, cakes, bread, pasta.  It sure ain't fancy, but you can taste the love.

May 12, 2012 Something That Makes You Happy:

These two crazy kids playing together.  You can't see it, but they climbed into this toy playpen because there's a cat sleeping in there.  Poor cat.

May 13, 2012 Mom:

Here's my mom.  The lady I depend on.  The lady who taught me how to be a mom. The lady I love so very, very much.
And here's a perfect picture of me as a mom- completely buried in a pile of kids :).

May 14, 2012 Grass:

Its taken Ani Rose this long to get used to the feeling of grass and actually like it.  Not that you can tell from that grumpy little face (someone's not giving her what she wants).

May 15, 2012 Love:

There's my love (not the one in the Galactus costume :)).  I love his comic book geekiness.  It led us to the creative and beautiful name of our first born child- Mr Norrin Radd Milligan.  Yes, that man of mine is something pretty great :).

May 16, 2012 What You're Reading:

Mockingjay

The third book from Suzanne Collins and I can't say its been an easy read.  I loved the Hunger Games and I really, really loved Catching Fire, but this one has been a little tedious.  I hope it ends well because its been some serious work to make it to the halfway point.

May 17, 2012 Snack:

This was actually Norrin's breakfast one morning at Grandmom Jump's, but it makes me laugh.  A hot dog, potato chips and some yogurt. Ahhh, that's my boy.

Something You Do Every Day

I knit.  Every day.  At least one row.  It lowers my blood pressure, it calms me down and it makes me feel good to be doing something creative.

And as you can see, I knit everywhere.  Norrin's sports events, anyone's house, the movies, waiting in line, sitting on the floor outside the bathroom. I really enjoy knitting...in case you didn't know :).

Someone That Inspires You

Have fun!

And eat dessert first and often :).

I have two someones that inspire and amaze me every day.  They're my greatest teachers and seeing the world through their eyes makes it an even more beautiful place.

You

Mama, Wife, Nurse, Daughter, Sister, Friend

Bird

In May of 2010, Norrin was only 2.5 years old.  We took him to the Philadelphia Zoo and while we were in the petting zoo section, we saw a mama and her ducklings scooting past.  As quick as could be, Norrin stuck his hand out and caught a baby duckling.  It was a perfect hold- around the body, just over the wings and not too tight.  It was amazing.

And this is how he reacted when I told him we couldn't keep the baby duck :).

Fun!

I know its supposed to be a photo a day, but I can't illustrate just how much fun playing with Ani Rose is in a picture.  Not as nicely as this video does.  Ignore the mess.

Something That You Wore Today

What I wore today is this vibrant orange sweater that you can barely see in this photo since I had to take it myself while wrestling with a very grabby baby.  This sweater was started long before Ani Rose came on the scene and the only thing that was preventing it from becoming a finished sweater was one sleeve.  For more than a year it sat on needles waiting for me to just get it done.  Just last week, I finished knitting the sleeve and weaving in the ends, but I haven't blocked it or added buttons.  In fact, I love it so much that I might never take it off long enough to do those two things.

The other thing I wear every day is my baby :).  I love my baby carrier and use it every chance I get.  It keeps Ani Rose out of trouble and snuggling close to me.  These three pictures are so funny because now when the red focus light goes off on our camera she makes this squinty eyed face.

May Photo Project

5 May #photoaday Challenges

Already a little behind on this idea, but I saw this list on Pintrest and I thought it would be a good way to create a little consistency in my posts.  The pictures will mostly be courtesy of my hubby, but I will try not to rely too heavily on him. Now...let's see if I make it a week into this :).

First up, Peace.
This is a photo I took of Ani Rose and Todd taking a nap on Easter.  Its not the nap that reminds me of peace...its the man taking the nap.  He is my peace.  He's a truly wonderful father to our children.  He knows how to get down on the floor and really play with them.  He has great imagination and makes up some of the best stories Norrin has ever heard.  He can look at me and know what I need at that exact moment, be it some quiet knitting time or some Oreo cookies.  He brings great peace to our world.  There's no worries when he's around.  The proof of the peace he brings is in the birth of both our babies.  They both cried...until they were handed to Todd.  They knew they were safe and loved and felt instantly at peace in his arms.

And for Skyline- the city of Philadelphia.  My home since 1996.  Yes, I do say I'm an upstate New Yorker still, but its mostly my way of explaining my accent.  My darling son loves to correct my accent.  He's constantly telling me to say things a certain way, like water (folks from Philadelphia know exactly how this is "supposed" to sound).  Then, when I get it wrong, I try to explain to him that I wasn't born in Philadelphia.  And his response?  "You live in Philadelphia now, Mommy, so say it right".  Alrighty then.  He also calls me a New Yorkian.  Uh, huh.

So, that's the start of the May Photo Project.  We'll see how it goes.
