In Celebration of World Breastfeeding Week

The Nursing Mothers Advisory Council throws this little shindig together every year. Its at Mason Mills Park and its so much fun. Its very family oriented with coloring, games, face painting, tattoos, snacks and lots of breastfeeding information. Normally they also host a Big Latch On, in which, nursing moms get together and try to latch their babies at the same time. Its a great, supportive, we are mommy, hear us roar moment and Ani has never, ever been cooperative for that. Everything was rearranged thanks to the rain the day before and I can't say I'm sad about that. So, we just enjoyed the judgement free environment on this beautiful Sunday.
My two, strong, breastfed babies and the looks they chose to sport that day.

Norrin had them paint on his hands instead of his face.

Gymboree came and had lots of activities for the kids, including playing with a parachute.

I think its safe to say, they loved it.

There was also instruments to play.

Of course, there was going to be a nursing break...complete with resting a foot in mama's face.

There may have been a little bit of dog thievery.

There was a little bit of time spent in the sprinkler.

Ani Rose's favorite game was sending the dog (that she borrowed on a permanent basis from the Gymboree people) down the slide.

And then she would come sliding down after.

Maren, Juniper and new baby girl, Xyla met up with us.

There was a lot of bubble chasing.

I still can't get over Juniper's super curly, blond hair.

Maren and Xyla, in a rare appearance outside of her carrier :).

Peek-a-boo, Ani Rose.

It was a lot of fun until Norrin got sick later in the day. He started to look pale and felt warm around 2:30. By the time we got him home, he had passed out on the couch...and everyone knows Norrin fights sleep better than any child ever. He threw up later that night and we made plans for him to go to Grandmom Meatball's house. He had such a good time there that he asked if we could and I quote, "Book Grandmom for tomorrow if I don't feel good again". Yeah, sure, Norrin, we can book her.
